"Is there no balm in Gilead? (Jeremiah 8:22)... Love is the balm that brings healing to the soul... (The Son), even the Lord Jesus Christ, gave His life that we might have eternal life, so great was His love for His Father and for us."
(Thomas S. Monson, "A Doorway Called Love," Ensign, Nov. 1987, 66)
Losing my daughter, a year ago, to an act of domestic violence, brought with it much sorrow and grief. But I found, as I gave my sorrow and burden to the Savior and felt His love for me, He truly has helped heal my heart and soul. Yes, I still feel great sorrow on occasion, and it will never go away, but the Lord's Love has given me much needed strength, comfort, hope, and faith to endure. I have joy in knowing that life is eternal, and I have the sweet assurance that I will be with my daughter again!
lovely roses to go with your sweet assurances ((hugs))
ReplyDeleteyes Kaylene changed the format of Quotography at the beginning of the year. She was going to stop hosting it altogether because she felt it required to much attention. So she decided to go this route--one theme per month. Participation has fallen off but I still love put words with pictures, so I'm happy to still have a host of anykind. I'd do it by myself if I had to but it is nice to have a few stop by. Lisa is a regular every week. I enjoy her posts very much. She has such a nice perspective on life and her photography skills are breathtaking. I'm glad your back for a while and I'll miss you when you are gone.
ReplyDeleteI can't imagine the pain you've experienced, and it is hard to find the words needed to express such deep sympathy. Sometimes I think nothing can be done or said better than finding peace and comfort in the arms of God. May be bless and keep you always. My participation in Quotography dwindled in February, but I'm looking forward to ramping it back up in March.
