How appropriate. I bet that decor is sitting out on your front porch. I love it. We had a backyard barbecue and fireworks at home. Only two mishaps. Derek had a firework explode while he was lighting it, no injuries but it made him more cautious after that. Alyssa rocked her chair over while watching the city fireworks and cracked her head open, not too bad but it bled and took the fun out of the evening for her. She curled up in a blanket and went to sleep on grandma's lap with her hands over her ears. We did have a thunder/lightening storm while we were preparing dinner and had to eat inside because it was all of a sudden pouring buckets in our part of the world. It was amazing! It was one of those storms you had to stand in the doorways and watch because we just don't have rain like that too often. How was your 4th?
Sorry about the two mishaps. But, it sounds like there were lessons learned.
I wished I could have stood in your doorway with you and watched the lightening and thunder storm. For some reason that is one of my favorite memories growing up. We don't get that too much up here.
Our 4th was quiet for the most part. We went to Kelsey's for a bbq and then watched fireworks from the top or our hill. You can see a display of color miles to the north and miles to the south. And Willard's were right next to us. That's the advantage of where we live. We can see the fireworks without the people. I like that.
The love of liberty inspires my soul also. Gives me a reason to sing and to write. I do it with authentic freedom that makes it all the more worth it and for that I am so thankful because I know that only God can give me such a beautiful gift as freedom is.

Oh yeah, and that is my wood flag on my old wooden bench on the porch. I've had them for a long time.
